Chemical Industry:
Tissue attaches to metal
There are some 35 places in the human body that can be repaired with medical implants generally made from titanium. The titanium dioxide surface treatment developed by Vivoxid Oy makes the surface of metal implants adhere to living soft tissue and prevents infections.
MetAlive™ is a unique innovation for the soft tissue attachment of implants. The company is also well known for the AbMin™ bioactive glass from which anti-bacteria products are produced and used for healing bone-tissue deficiencies and damage to the ocular fundus. The product innovations improve the results of treatment considerably.
Vivoxid researches, manufactures and markets new-generation bioactive products. The innovations are used in dentistry, head and neck treatment, surgery, orthopedics and the treatment of wounds, for the regeneration of bone and soft tissue and for the faster formation of new tissue.
The company is growing and becoming internationally oriented by looking for partners in Europe, the United States and Asia, where Vivoxid is making the initial advances in Japan and China. In the future, however, it will be looking to India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan.
