Health from foods
Valio Oy, which celebrated its centenary in 2005, is better known than ever throughout the world and much sought-after as a partner, particularly in the dairy industry. The company also sets a world-class pace in the development of functional products, i.e. products that have an effect on health.
One of the ways Valio exploits its expertise is by licensing. Food-licensing agreements are available for the health-promoting probiotic Lactobacillus GG strain, Evolus® milk drink, which lowers the blood pressure, and totally lactose-free milk, which is produced under a new method.
Licensing has brought Valio not only new international business but also recognition. The most important countries for licensing at this moment are Holland, Switzerland, Spain, Norway, Croatia, Australia, South Korea, Japan and the USA.
