Engineering Industry:
Elevator revolution
The more-than-one-hundred-year history of the elevator and
the whole elevator industry experienced a major breakthrough
when the elevator and escalator company KONE patented a revolutionary
machine-room-less elevator concept and started its production.
The elevator, which is based on the KONE Mono-Space®
technology, does not need a space-consuming machine room;
the hoisting unit can be installed directly into the elevator
shaft. The elevator is equipped with the KONE EcoDisk®
hoisting unit, which has quickly made the elevator the standard
in the industry.
Those who benefit from the machine-room-less elevator include
architects, builders, contractors and those who use the lifts.
The machine-room-less elevator has become popular worldwide,
particularly with architects, who value the ease in finding
a place to locate the elevator. KONE MonoSpace is more economical,
user-friendly and less harmful to the environment than traditional
lift solutions.

the world equipped with machine-room-less elevators.
