52nd Prisma hypermarket will be opened in Riga Latvia

SOK’s subsidiary AS Prisma Latvija opens today, 9.11.2006 16.00 o’clock, the first hypermarket unit in Riga Latvia. New Prisma is located in Domina shopping centre.

New, about 10 000 m2 unit is S-Group’s first hypermarket in this million customer market. Prisma Domina employs about 120 persons and stocks over 50 000 products.

“Prisma’s competitive edges on the Riga market will be its consistently reasonable price level, its wide-ranging assortments and ease of shopping. Thanks to its location, the Domina shopping centre is an excellent place to start up operations in Riga,” says Pekka Sääskilahti, Managing Director of AS Prisma Latvija.

Domina is one of the Riga’s newest shopping centres. One of the leading malls in the city, it is a high-quality place to shop, housing just under 150 speciality stores. Shopping centre has a multi-story parking lot with place with more than 2000 spaces.

SOK has signed an agreement for a second Prisma hypermarket in Riga, Latvia. The new unit will be located at the Riga Plaza Shopping and Entertainment Centre to be built in the city in 2008. Long term aim is to open several Prisma hypermarkets in Riga and to become the market leader on this market of one million customers.
