Finland Post Corporation's scheduled delivery network
expanded during the spring to take in the Baltic region. The
new international freight delivery service will cover not
only Sweden, Norway and Denmark but also from 1 May Estonia,
Latvia, Lithuania and Poland.
"The company can now better provide companies that are
expanding their own area of operations with a comprehensive
service network for controlling information and materials
flows," says business director Juha Koskinen.
The new service will make it possible to send packets and
pallets to neighbouring regions as simply as in Finland. In
the Greater Stockholm and Tallinn areas, for example, consignments
will be delivered on the next working day.
"We're strengthening our market position in logistics
in the Baltic Sea region. Our aim is to construct a network
of logistical operating centres around the Baltic," Koskinen
says.
Finland Post Corporation, which was founded way back in 1638
and converted into a public limited company in 2001, is the
leading messaging and logistics company in Finland and on
selected markets in the Baltic region. The company is seeking
growth in corporate logistics, online communications transmission
and carefully managed international operations.
