Fifth Element Oy is a Finnish company with information technology expertise, focusing on systems integration, operation resource management that exploits geographical information and mobile solutions. It specialises in mobility, integration and place information.

More efficient operations
Sonninen says that with modern day business operations it is a question of constantly improving customer service and making your own company’s operations more efficient. This results in the profitable growth that everyone is aiming at.
Making business operations more efficient is, however, a challenge, if most of the personnel work elsewhere than at their desk at the office, e.g. in a warehouse, on the factory floor, in the packaging department, in the forest, at the customer’s, on the road or at a building site.
Fifth Elements develops its customers’ ability to provide a service and their efficiency by linking employees who work outside the office or the entire supply chain into one seamless part of the company’s control and reporting systems. The customers’ processes become smoother, even automatic.

Case Gasum Oy
Gasum Oy is a Finnish company with strong expertise in many fields. Its most important objective is to bring the excellent properties of natural gas within the reach of all Finns. Fifth Element has, together with Gasum, constructed a Pipeline Integrity Management system, which makes it possible to maintain the underground pipeline in real time.
Everything takes place in the field wirelessly. The field personnel moving overland have precise information about the location of the pipeline (via a satellite), its condition and the maintenance work carried out and needed. The system also enables a permission process if a third party wants to do excavating work in the vicinity of the pipeline.
