The aim of Oulu-based FRWD Technologies Oy is to extend the sporting experiences of both professionals and amateurs to new dimensions. A sports computer measures, analyses and optimizes - and also offers the best sports aftermath.

The FRWD Outdoor Sports Computer, which has been developed in cooperation with professional sports people, records and shows with one press of a button all the information they need about their performance: route, distance, speed, heart rate, altitude profile, pitch angles, calories and overall development.

The FRWD shows in real time either on a wrist display or mobile phone how the performance is proceeding. It also makes possible the re-living of the best sporting moments through the computer both graphically and numerically.

"After the performances the FRWD provides the best sports aftermath. It shows recorded information in a way that is better, more visual, more entertaining and more useful than any other device," says CEO Ilkka Limma.

In addition to the entertainment, the FRWD helps in analysing and in optimizing practice and in improving results. It is possible for users to monitor their personal development by analysing and re-living.

The sports computer is suited to almost any event. The largest group is professional and amateur sports people who are passionate about their sport. The device, which was launched in 2004, is sold in more than 20 countries.
