The Finnish company Footbalance System Oy has developed a unique product and service concept that improves and increases the comfort of movement. Insoles made on the basis of a foot analysis make the shoes fit the foot perfectly.

Footbalance's individually shaped insoles support the position of the foot and prevent and help correct its faulty positioning.

"It's worth getting the insoles, even if there is no real faulty positioning. Each foot is different, so insoles made according to standard measurements don't always fit the foot. Custom-made insoles are also a comfort product," says physiotherapist Erkki Hakkala, the founder of Footbalance.

For all feet

International research shows that almost 70 per cent of people have problems with their feet. If untreated, they may cause trouble for the foot, knee, hip, lower back and the neck and shoulder region.

"Footbalance's insoles are suited to all feet from sports shoes to women's evening and formal shoes and to those who move at different levels from professional ice-hockey players to those out for a Sunday stroll," Hakkala says.

The insoles are made at authorized sports businesses after a foot analysis. A trained salesperson takes a picture of the position and operation of the foot using Footbalance's analysis equipment. The insoles obtain their individual form by being heated and by using forming cushions developed for the purpose.

In 2006 the Insole foot and service concept was awarded the President of the Republic's nationwide INNOFINLAND prize.
