Dynea Oy, which specializes in adhesive resins and paper
overlays, has found Asia to be its strong growth market. The
company, which has been operating in China for about twenty
years, opened it's third new production plant in the country
at the end of 2003.
The production plant opened in Guangdong Province produces
adhesive resins for the rapidly expanding markets in southern
China. The plant's annual capacity is 60,000 tonnes of adhesive
resins that are used in the production of panel-boards, laminates,
insulation wool, glass-fibre products, abrasives, foundry
moulds, etc.
A paper impregnation line that produces overlays impregnated
with phenolic resins will be completed at the site later this
year. The line will produce about 35 million square metres
of specialty papers used for the further processing of panel-boards
and production of laminates.
Leader in Asia
"China and Asia as a whole are a clear growth market
for all Dynea products. Our aim is to base our position on
local production and customer service," says Mr. Kyösti
Sysiö, Group Vice President, Corporate Development.
Dynea and its predecessors have been operating on the Chinese
panel board adhesives and specialty adhesives markets since
the beginning of the 1980s. At that time the company built
the first formaldehyde and panel board adhesive plants for
the Chinese woodprocessing industry. Today Dynea is the leading
company in the field in China.
"Like many other Finnish and Scandinavian companies,
we have a long history of promoting environment-friendly technologies
and products. These values have taken priority in the design
of Dynea's plants and production processes in China,"
Sysiö underlines.
The world's most international company specializing in adhesive
and overlay solutions has production facilities in 24 countries.
In the Pacific region Dynea produces adhesive resin not only
in China but also in Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan,
Singapore, Thailand, New Zealand and Vietnam. Dynea also produces
paper overlays in Indonesia.
