Vegetable farmers are unanimous: biodegradable agricultural film is a big step forward.

Bioska agricultural film is a more environment-friendly alternative than the traditional plastic film. It is produced, like other Bioska products, from a one hundred per cent biodegradable raw material that is composed mainly of starch. Bioska's raw material has been tested in many countries, and it meets all the European demands and directives set for biodegradability.

Thanks to its biodegradability, Bioska agricultural film can be applied to plots where, because of weed problems, it is necessary to use a base film that is in contact with the ground. The film saves the farmer's time and costs and solves many practical everyday problems.

After the harvest it is not necessary to remove the biodegradable film; it can be ploughed into the earth, where with time it will convert into rich top soil. According to farmers' experiences, thanks to the biodegradable film the use of weed-killer is reduced to a minimum, growing conditions improve, lettuces grow bigger and the harvest is more productive.

The Bioska product family includes several environmental applications and products that can be adapted for the handling of bio-waste both in households and commercially. Bioska products are made by the Finnish company Plastiroll Oy.
