AinoActive Oy is involved in the Finpro and Tekes Healthy China project through which Finnish wellbeing technology and know-how in the field are being exported to the Chinese market. Long-term results are expected from the project.

The service concept of AinoActive, which specializes in comprehensive wellbeing technology solutions, has been tested in Finnish occupational health physical exercise since September 2005.

"The solution is not just a single step or measurement in preventive occupational health care; it is a comprehensive approach to achieving an individual's wellbeing targets," says president and CEO Jyrki Eklund.

The complete package contains a small, precise activity monitoring device, monitoring software and personal activity and nutrition solutions.

"Our product has been designed to be analytical and to motivate the individual. The results that have been achieved are good. The biggest benefits have been the good commitment of the staff, purposefulness at the individual level and activating those who are passive in the biggest risk group."

Ever-expanding market

With a rising standard of living and increasingly western diet, illnesses associated with standard of living are proliferating in China too. Eklund says that the Healthy China project, which is seeking solutions to the growing number of problems, is interesting. Investment is being made in it and long-term results are expected of it - more than in just one project.

"The project will give an excellent perspective on the processes of Chinese health care and an opportunity to have an effect in developing solutions meant for the monitoring of preventive health care and rehabilitation," Eklund says.

AinoActive will deliver equipment, IT infrastructure and training to China. The health instructions and guidance of the individual will be handled at the local level. "The equipment is the same as in Finland, but the market is different. In China a device might be used for rehabilitation in hospitals, with attempts to make the treatment process effective and permanent."

AinoActive's solution will be able to function in the future on an ever-expanding market. "Health care is coming under severe pressure all over the world. Standard-of-living illnesses are major challenges socially, and immediate steps must be taken for them."

"Finland is in a position to make products in the wellbeing sector an essential export article."

AinoActive's activity monitor is used in Finland mainly for maintaining occupational wellbeing. There are, however, areas of application on ever-expanding markets.
