Mechanical engineering:
PROPELLER TECHNOLOGY FOR CRUISE SHIPS

In recent years, many cruise ships built in Finland have been equipped with Finnish-made Azipod propulsion systems. Azipod propulsion units allow huge cruise ships to make a full turn without moving forward. An example of the ships equipped with an Azipod propulsion system is the second vessel in the Voyager cruise ship series, the Explorer of the Seas, which was manufactured by Kvaerner Masa-Yards for the American company, Royal Caribbean International.
