Forest Industry:
WOOD WISDOM
A project dubbed Wood Wisdom is being carried out in Finland.
Started in 1998 and ending in 2001, the project aims at enhancing
co-operation between forest cluster research organisations,
companies, funding sources and other interest groups. The
objective of this extensive project is for the participants
to discover market-driven ideas for the utilisation of wood.
Over 300 research scientists from more than 60 forest expert
organisations, companies, research institutions and universities
are taking part in the quest. Various chemical and physical
wood processing methods, for example, have already yielded
promising results.
