Forest Industry:
SIBELIUS HALL
The Sibelius Concert Hall inaugurated in the early spring
of 2000 in the southern Finnish city of Lahti provides a magnificent
example of Finnish woodworking expertise and cultured architecture.
The Sibelius Hall represents beautiful wood architecture and
includes many wood construction innovations which were co-operatively
developed by various construction industry participants. The
hall's main floor and two balconies can accommodate an audience
of 1,250. The back walls of the balconies are acoustical doors
that can be opened to modify the acoustical properties of
the hall.
