Construction and the Construction Products Industry:
WIDE RANGE OF CONSTRUCTION RELATED SERVICES

Skanska is a global construction services group committed to finding innovative solutions for its clients. Skanska Oy’s market areas are Finland, Russia and the other CIS countries, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Hungary. Skanska Oy’s activities include building construction, civil construction, building services and facilities management. Some examples of the Skanska projects in Finland are office buildings for KONE in Espoo and Helsinki, Oracle House and an office building for Pfizer in Helsinki. In office construction as in other sectors, Skanska develops new solutions for the changing needs of the business community. Turvalaakso (Security Valley) is another to highlight. It is a new Business Park being developed in partnership with the Bank of Finland. Great emphasis is placed on data security in particular. During the past few years Skanska has also carried out a number of commercial projects for the leading Finnish retailers Kesko and Prisma.

Operations Expanding in Russia

Skanska provides project development and construction services in Russia and the other CIS countries. The key clients are both local and international corporations. Skanska has completed over 60 projects in Russia and is the leading foreign construction company in the country. The first Ikea store in Russia was built in 1999 by Skanska in Moscow. Skanska has built two well-known multifunction arenas in Russia, one in St. Petersburg and one in Yaroslavl. In St. Petersburg Skanska is developing Russia’s first industrial and technology business park. Known as Nova Park, the project involves 60 hectares in an excellent location north of the city and next to the new ring road. In Estonia Skanska is the second-largest construction company. In Vilnius a major ongoing project is the new Vilnius City Hall.
