The Technology Industries of Finland in a Nutshell
The technology sector (metals, electronics and electronics
industry, and mechanical engineering) is today Finland's largest
industrial sector. It accounts for almost 60 % of Finland's
exports and 75 % of investment in research and development
and is Finland's largest employer, employing a quarter of
the national workforce. The technology industries grew significantly
during the last decade, at an annual rate of nearly a third,
largely because of the spectacular growth in electronics use
during this period. Today, the Technology Industries of Finland
continue to maintain their position as Finland's industrial
powerhouse and an international showcase.

worldwide.
