Finnish Energy Production
Finland is the world's most northern industrialized nation,
and its energy consumption per capita is high. This is caused
by the severe climate, long distances, the high standard of
living and the structure of the industry. Finnish energy sources
are versatile and plentiful, thus allowing energy management
to be secure and reliable. The most important domestic energy
sources are nuclear, wood, peat and hydropower. The share
of bioenergy in electricity production is the highest of all
industrialised countries in Finland, being 17% in 2005.
