4. Purpose of processing personal data
The file is used for handling Finnfact ry’s customer and stakeholder relations, contacting customers and stakeholders and for marketing. The purchasing history of a customer of Finnfacts ry can be collected in the file unless the customer has forbidden it. The data in the file can be used for direct market marketing purposes by bodies that are part of the TAT Group (Economic Information Office, Infor Ltd, T-Media and Finnfacts), unless a customer or stakeholder representative has forbidden such handing over of data.
5. Content of data in file
Basic data about a customer of Finnfacts ry or stakeholder representative: company/corporation, surname, Christian names, postal address, postal code, post office, home, work and mobile telephone numbers, e-mail address, job title and type of customer.
The file records information about whether a customer or stakeholder representative has forbidden the collection of data on purchasing behaviour or the handing over of personal data applying to them for direct marketing purposes either in print or electronically.
6. Regular sources of data
Basic data about a customer or stakeholder representative are recorded at the beginning of the customer or stakeholder relationship. The receiving of updates of data about a customer or stakeholder representative will be based on the activeness of the customers and the stakeholder representatives and their corporations. A direct marketing ban and ban on the filing of purchases will be recorded from separate notifications made to the controller by a customer or stakeholder representative.
7. Handing file data forward
Data in Finnfacts ry’s customer file will not be handed forward for commercial purposes. The other units in the TAT Group (Economic Information Office, Infor, T-Media and Finnfacts) can use the file for research, product development and direct marketing purposes. Finnfacts ry may hand over customers’ contact information at its discretion for research purposes (e.g. Pro gradu surveys).
8. Principles of file protection
Finnfacts ry observes the prescribed secrecy obligation strictly. Data applying to an individual customer are notified only because of a legally-based duty of notification, for example, at the customer’s own request or a legally-based official request.
Only employees of companies working at the behest of and on behalf of Finnfacts ry have the right to use the customer data system and maintain the data in a file. All designated users have their own user ID and password. The system is protected by a firewall that protects contact from outside the Confederation of Finnish Industries (EK) accessing the system.
9. Other direct marketing files
In addition to its own customer file, Finnfacts ry uses some commercial files for direct marketing. When sending direct marketing in print or electronic form, Finnfacts ry mentions the source of the address on the envelope/in the communication.

Infor Oy organizes a wide range of supplementary training for communications and marketing personnel and staff trainers. It uses MTV’s training studios for coaching presentation and media skills. It tailors the training to small groups of work communities in areas such as written communications, management communications, interactive and negotiation skills, customer communications and crisis communications. We also publish communication literature and business directories.
